Our Goals

Decoding Dyslexia – KS is a grassroots movement driven by KS families concerned with the limited access to educational interventions for dyslexia within our public schools. We aim to raise dyslexia awareness, empower families to support their children and inform policy-makers on best practices to identify, remediate and support students with dyslexia in KS public schools.

We are advocating for KS to implement:

  • A universal definition and understanding of “dyslexia” in the state education code
  • Mandatory teacher training on dyslexia, its warning signs and appropriate intervention strategies
  • Mandatory early screening tests for dyslexia
  • Mandatory dyslexia remediation programs, which can be accessed by both general and special education populations
  • Access to appropriate “assistive technologies” in the public school setting for students with dyslexia

Please help support our schools in identifying and remediating our children with dyslexia. Reading is the foundation of ALL learning!

  1. Hi! I see that you have a place to “share” your site on facebook; but, I don’t see how/where I can “like” your fb page?! Am I missing it? 🙂

    • Nicole,
Are you on a mobile phone or a computer?
The mobile phones are a lot trickier to spot than the computer….despite how much them try to make them look the same. If you are on a phone, there is a checkmark and a “like” button right under the description of DDKS. Hope this helps.
