Face It Manifesto

We believe:
Kansas State Board of Education must review and adopt policy and procedural changes to ensure that children with a medical and/or educational diagnosis of dyslexia regardless of their educational placement are specifically identified and taught to read, spell, and write within public school, private school, or home school environments.

Dyslexia is a medical diagnosis, therefore trained medical professionals are the best at diagnosing dyslexia and prescribing treatment.

Kansas State Board of Education shall develop policy and procedures for treating dyslexia within general education using “a team”, to include parents/guardians, medical professionals, pediatricians, psychologist, neurologists, Literacy Intervention Specialists, etc., those most knowledgeable of the current research for remediating children with dyslexia.

Our goal is to have 1,000 signatures by December 1, 2012.
